Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"First time trying African food and I have always wanted to try Fufu. It was a bit different from how I imagined it to be, but not too bad. The Egusi has a unique flavour and it pairs so well with the Fufu. Jollof Rice texture is so wet, almost like a Paella with different spices and condiment. Service was a bit slow, we waited for 30mins+ for the takeaway, but it was packaged nicely and the kakak was very friendly. Overall its worth to try."
"I decided to try this restaurant, and I'm blown away by the customer service, amazing food, and hospitality. I decided to try jollof rice with chicken, and the dish tasted amazing. It was authentic and had a spicy aftertaste. The owners were nice enough to get me water, as the dish was too spicy for me. The portion size was bigger than I expected, and I normally eat a lot of food. I've recommended this spot to anyone looking to try Nigerian food (west African) dishes at an affordable price."
"First time trying Fufu and Chicken Egusi. Not bad, it was delicious. Not too spicy and the combination was like eating Ketupat rice and chicken rendang similar but not the same. Same home cooked feels to it. Would not mind to try again for some other menu. My wife had small chat with the owners child mending the counter. Very friendly, courteous and serve with a smile. Very genuine."
"Great service. Glad I found this place when I did. The food's delicious and comes in really good portion size. Was nice to have such lovely meal far away from home."
"Absolutely 10/10, from presentation to flavour. Would recommend this spot for anyone looking to have a taste of Nigeria made by the nicest staff I have ever come across in Malaysia. Don’t waste your time going anywhere else, this is the place."
"I didn't take any photos of fufu & egusi just now, But it was my first time trying fufu, been craving for months to try them, every time I googled Darlingmeo popped up on the top. So today I decided to come and try, amazingly delicious, I will definitely will come again.. Saya doa kan business awak meletops ye.. aaminnn #tattooedMom"
"I recently became curious about Nigerian food and decided to try it for the first time which is why I came here. This stall is located in Restoran KL Exit, just a few minutes' walk from the Chow Kit Monorail Station. I ordered the Lagos Swallow Set, which consisted of fufu (cassava dough) with egusi (beef stew). I also ordered their best-selling jollof rice with fried chicken and plantains. I arrived as the first customer when the stall opened at 4 p.m. while several other customers were queuing behind me. Everything was super delicious and not as spicy as I had feared. However, the portions were quite large and incredibly filling. Therefore, it's a good idea to bring someone to help you finish everything."
"The food is quite good, but the hospitality is the best thing about this place! The man who runs the establishment and his beautiful wife are the best example of the greatest qualities of both Nigerians and Malaysians. I recommend this place highly. Come if you're feeling homesick or even if you just want to try something new, you will find good food and a welcoming smile."
